College Student Activities
Fall Bible Study–This fall, Areopagus will study the Sermon on the Mount, considering its connections to the Old Testament and its ongoing significance for our lives today. Meets on Thursdays at 6:00PM at the Memorial Union. Room assignments vary, so if interested, contact Tyler Helfers (email@example.com).
Faculty/Grad Discussion–Meets on Fridays at noon in the Memorial Union (Room 3540). This fall, we will be discussing Dr. Kevin Vanhoozer’s Biblical Authority after Babel: Retrieving the Solas in the Spirit of Mere Protestant Christianity.
Friday Food at First--Serve the community of Ames by preparing and serving meals at First Christian Church (611 Clark Avenue) on the 1st and 2nd Fridays of the month. Help out between 3:30-7:00PM.
Coffee, Tea, and English–A time to meet, serve, and build relationships with international students, visiting researchers, and their spouses through conversational English. Fridays at 4:30PM in the Gerdin Lobby (in the business building).
ALTI (Areopagus Leadership Training Program)–a program aimed at providing multi-faceted training for students to prepare them to serve as leaders in the church, their communities, and workplaces. For information, contact Tyler Helfers (director@isu-areopagus) or Jerry Worrel.
Join us on the 2nd and 3rd Fridays of each month to help cook at Food@First (located at 611 Clark Ave.) between 3:30 & 7:00 p.m., OR participate in our co-sponsored conversational English program, Coffee, Tea, and English (contact Tyler Helfers for more details on time/location). Beginning in September.
Our annual Welcome Luncheon is held on the Sunday before Iowa State University classes begin in August. A free meal is provided by our Trinity CRC Fellowship Committee and served after the morning service. We look forward to get to know you and answer any questions you may have about the community, ISU, our church and Areopagus our campus ministry. Come Join us August 19, 2018.
